How do you handicap the games?
In-depth research of every team, i.e. injuries, revenge motive, returning starters, offensive line vs. defensive line matchups, running game of each team... and much more.
Why do you specialize in the Western Conferences?
The Prophet has been living in Arizona for fifteen years and attended Arizona State. He is very familiar with all of the teams in the Pac Ten, and has a knack for how they are going to play. Satellite Dan has always concentrated on the “Mountain West Conference” and the “WAC.” He has repeatedly discovered mistakes made by the lines makers with respect to these smaller college conference match ups. Other experts call the “Arizona Cappers for our “Western Conference” selections.
Is there such thing as a lock?
Absolutely not! Anyone who tells you that is leading you in the wrong direction. No one can control how the teams are going to play; all we can do is analyze the games as best as possible. When we give out a 10* play that means we really like the game for numerous reasons and feel that it has a strong shot at coming in.
Are there really handicappers that hit 80 percent of their selections?
If you have a service who is telling you that, run the other way! There are times when we will go on a tear, but hitting that percentage for the entire season is unheard of. A solid percentage for an entire season is around 62-65 percent.
I am interested in using an overseas sports book. Are there any that you can suggest and what is your feeling on them?
There are a number of sports books for you to choose from, but we have chosen Mybookie or www.mybookie.com for our Sponsors because of the excellent service they provide.
Do you find college sports or pro sports easier to handicap?
We have always felt that college sports are easier to handicap. In pro sports these guys are making millions of dollars and you never know what you are going to get each week with them. These college kids give it their all every time out; they don’t care what the score is. Also, the odds makers for professional sports have much fewer games to concentrate on. They have the ability to watch every single play in each game which limits their mistakes when setting the lines. We have always felt there is more value in playing college sports.
